Dimitar Ivanov-Lizzo was born on 01.03.1888 in the town of Haskovo, in the family of the craftsman Ivan Russev. Since child little Mitko has a tendency to paint. At school he started painting landscapes. With his drawings he astonishes his teacher. As a pupil he became popular in the city and was extremely sought after to draw portraits of revivalists, of decorations and curtains. For a short time he grew up as a talented, original artist of Haskovo.
